At Any Price by Brenna Aubrey

Okay, I’ve also had this on my Kindle for a while. I’m currently on summer break from college and have very little to do. It’s why I’m posting more often now.  These authors get you hooked on their series by offering the first books free, almost like a teaser. But for what you really came for, let’s begin.

Achievement Unlocked: Geek Virgin

When Mia Strong, proud geek-girl and popular gaming blogger, auctions off her virginity online, she knows she’ll make waves. But what she will not be making is a love connection. Her rules are set in stone: One night. No further contact.

It’s a desperate step, but it’s the only way she can go to medical school and pay her mother’s mounting hospital bills.

Difficulty Level: Millionaire CEO

Adam Drake, the enigmatic auction winner, is a software prodigy who made his first million at seventeen. Now, in his mid-twenties, he’s sexy, driven and–as CEO of his own gaming company–he’s used to making the rules. Before Mia knows what’s happening, he’s found the loophole in the rules of her auction. Every stipulation she’s made to protect her heart gets tossed by the wayside.

She can’t tell if he’s playing her…or if he’s playing for keeps.

This New Adult book is intended for readers over the age of 18 due to adult language, sexual content and adult situations.

I’m not kidding when I say it’s almost like these authors and their publishers offer their series’ first book for free. It’s why I’ve started getting into this genre, if I’m being honest here. It’s smart; very, very smart. But anyway onto the story.

I get that there are people that do what Mia did, but I find it a little odd. Not judging her or anyone who actually does this. The only reason I also categorized it as a friendship type novel is because her best friend really does a lot for her. He may not agree, and let’s her know… repeatedly, but ultimately helps her with her plan.

While in my lifetime, very short lifetime it may be, I’ve read my fair share of frustrating character and situations, but these characters… damn. No seriously, like how is she supposed to deal with his seemingly not wanting to go through with their deal.

Honestly, it’s been awhile since I read this. Plus I was also reading the Steel Brothers Saga along with this. Anyway, I shall try my best.

Exotic trips, because obviously their deal can’t take place in the States, who am I to argue?

The plot twists near the end, that’s what kept me attached to this series, because you guys know by now that I live for plot twists. But that ending with her mom was the best thing, honesty. And to find out that he’s the one who’s been helping her behind the scenes and other secrets, well that was just my favorite part.
